Alexander Pavtchinskii

Alexander Pavtchinskii, born in Kiev (Ukraine) in 1985, has been studying violin and viola with renowned pedagogues such as Zakhar Bron (violin) and Michael Kugel (viola). Alexander is graduate of Escuela Superior de Musica Reina Sofia in Madrid, Hochschule der Künste in Zurich (Orchestra diploma), School of Art in Gent (Soloist diploma). Besides his main instrument viola, he also studied contemporary music and conducting at the Conservatory in Gent. As a passionate chamber musician, Alexander has been member of the Artvelde String Quartet and Goldberg String Trio and was studying chamber music with Artemis Quartet at the prestigious Queen Elisabeth College of Music in Belgium 2012-2013. Since then he is regularly performing chamber music in Belgium and abroad in different formations. Alexander Pavtchinskii has been appointed as assistant professor at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in 2012 where he was teaching few years in a row. Also he was giving several masterclasses in Portugal and France. As a first prizewinner of numerous international competitions, Alexander has been performing as a soloist with orchestras such as Gulbenkian Orchestra of Lisbon, Classical Orchestra of Madeira, Horta Camerata in Portugal and others. He was guest at renowned festivals, such as Verbier Music Festival, Salzburg Mozarteum Festival, Santander Music Festival and Aurora Chamber Music. Alexander was member of Verbier Festival Orchestra 2012-2014, Camerata Nordica 2014- 2016, Brussels Chamber Orchestra 2013 and other. He has been solo viola of Hulencourt Soloists orchestra and Casco Phil as well as guest player of Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and Brussels Philharmonic. Since 2019 Alexander Pavtchinskii is solo viola of the Ataneres Ensemble in Belgium and is also regularly occupied at Het Ballet Orchestra in Amsterdam.
